Is Fort Desoto open during Covid?
The Visitor Center is open daily, 9:00am. to 5:00pm. Park grounds are open dawn to dusk, but the parking lot gates close at 5:00pm.

Fort De Soto Park Campground has 238 single-family campsites and is located on an island in a beautiful 1,136-acre park in the Tampa Bay Area. All campsites have water & electric hookups (30-50 amp) and are located very closer to the water.
Can you have a campfire at Fort Desoto campground?
No, we do not provide fire rings at our camp sites. We do permit small fires in the provided grills. Campfires are permitted in the camp sites as long as you have the fire in a container. Camp rings are also available for rent or purchase at our camp store.

However, swimming is not recommended in many areas of the park.
