Is Antilag bad for the car?
Is Antilag bad for the car?
Its not all fireworks and fun! Anti lag is actually quite brutal. All of that backfiring can cause extra wear and damage to the rally car engine and turbo. Turbochargers are manufactured to extremely fine tolerances and not designed for explosive pressure waves.
What is anti lag launch control?
Two different things. Launch control allows you to hold the car at high revs and then quickly engage the transmission. How it works, how clever it is and how effective it is varies. Anti-lag is something that keeps the turbo spinning between gear changes so you don’t get any lag when you go to the next gear.
What’s the difference between anti-lag and 2 step?
Anti-lag is a system that is used to keep a turbo spooled when you lift off the throttle. Anti-lag is only used on turbocharged engines. Two step is a secondary rev-limiter that holds a set RPM to get the best launch. This can be done through ignition cut, fuel cut, or the ECU with a button.

What does the anti lag function do on a turbo?
The Anti-Lag function is used with turbocharged engines to increase turbine speed when the throttle has been closed. This is typically of use during gear changes to prevent the turbo from stalling and needing to build pressure again after the throttle is re-opened.
How do I Turn on the antilag?
Click the “antilag launch” box on the “main” section which will open an “Antilag launch” tab at the top. In there you can set what type of trigger (none, clutch switch, or antilag switch), and the other rpms, type of cut, etc. I run “none” and have the antilag come on at 95% throttle and under 5 mph.
Is a Haltech IQ3 display worth it?
In saying that though, oil pressure is probably a better idea. Heck, a Haltech IQ3 display would be nice, or a Windows double din head unit that can constantly show the Haltech software would be great as well.
