Common questions

Can I rebuild a Sachs shock?

Can I rebuild a Sachs shock?

With the addition of a Schrader and no second retaining ring, the Sachs will become a normal, easily rebuildable shock. With the rod and piston assembly out I could get the specs on the shim stacks. This is a simple shock having fewer shims than some other shocks.

Where can I find the latest Sachs spare parts?

The SACHS catalogs also include the online catalog and the ZF Part Finder online catalog. Both are updated regularly so that you always have the very latest information when looking for products and item numbers. Discover the ZF Aftermarket spare part portfolio with our ZF Part Finder – also available as app for Android and iOS.

Why ZF Sachs performanceperformance clutch kits?

Performance Clutch Kits from ZF SACHS deliver more transmittable torque and more stability, longer life and superior thermal resistance. Advantages, that are of great value not only to highly tuned vehicles but also in motor sports.

How much oil do you put in a Sachs shock?

There is no typical bleeding of air from the oil with a gas-emulsion shock. You simply fill the Sachs shock with about 90cc of oil (or set oil level x millimeters from the top of the body – I used 55mm on the GG45 Ohlins).
