Can you watch live TV on a Freeview box?

A Freeview TV, box or recorder If you bought your TV after 2010, it will already have Freeview built into it. All you need to do is connect to a working aerial to watch live TV. If you have a Freeview HD TV, you can enjoy up to 15 HD channels.

Can you pause and rewind Freeview?

You can record a single programme or a whole series. You can also pause and rewind live TV, so you need never miss a moment. All of this is at no monthly cost after a one-off payment for the box.

How do I get TV Guide on Freeview play?

The TV Guide is in the centre of the menu along the bottom of the Freeview mobile app (called Guide). Simply tap it to open. You can switch between what’s on right now and the full guide by tapping the triple bar icon in the top left corner on the Guide.

What channels do you get on Freeview box?

Pushing the Freeview Play button or visiting channel 100 on an internet connected Freeview Play TV will give you access to:

You do need an aerial to receive Freeview live on TV through the TV Guide but can also view certain channels on internet connected devices without one. The aerial needs to be securely plugged into the socket in the back of your Freeview TV or recorder.

Does Freeview need Internet?

Yes, you will need an internet connection to use the Freeview mobile app, either via wi-fi or your own data allowance. Watching TV shows or films uses around 1GB of internet or mobile data per hour for SD and up to around 3GB per hour for HD.

Can I pause TV with Freeview play?

With a Freeview Play recorder, you’ll get all the features of Freeview Play, plus you’ll be able to pause, record and rewind live TV.

Can you watch YouTube on Freeview?

One of the big draws of Freeview Play is it has integrated access to the major catch-up services: BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, Demand 5 and UKTV Play. But your Freeview Play box also has access to other apps such as BBC News, BBC Sport, YouTube.

What’s the difference between Freeview and Freeview Plus?

Freeview+ (aka Freeview Plus) has been called “Sky+ for Freeview”. Like any standard Freeview box, Freeview Plus offers up to 48 free-to-air digital TV channels and 24 digital radio stations. Of course, this is a ‘best case’ Freeview scenario.

Can I get Netflix through my Freeview box?

Yes, Netflix is an auto-loaded app on the Freeview streaming device. You can access Netflix via the home screen or press the Netflix button on your Bluetooth remote.

Do I need an aerial for a now TV box?

You don’t need an aerial to access your NOW Membership or any of the apps of on a NOW Smart Box. If you’ve got a NOW Smart Box with Freeview, you’ll need to connect it to an aerial to watch the free channels.

Is the now TV box a Freeview box?

However, it really comes to life if you get yourself a Freeview Play box, of which there are plenty to choose from. These set-top boxes let you record programmes and also give you a smoother way to enjoy all the Freeview channels you could want.

Do you use now & next on your TV Guide?

Just having the “Now & Next” programmes available seems far to simplistic. Every other set top box or TV guide we’ve used displays a week of, if not more programming information AND the ability to set reminders for programmes we want to watch later in the evening/week.

Do you use now TV or live TV on Your Box?

I realise that you’d rather we use the NOW TV side of the box more than the LIVE TV side, but we like to use both equally, and think the guide for all Live channels (NOW & Freeview) is lettingan otherwise greatly useful bit of kit down greatly. Will we be seeing this improve in near future updates?
