Is the AMD stock cooler quiet?

I have the wraith cooler on my 2700x and for me, I feel that it’s very quiet. However, what I think is quiet and what YOU think is quiet could be very different. For non-OC use, it’s a pretty good cooler overall. I game quite a bit and the hottest I can remember it getting under full load was like 65c.

Is AMD stock cooler noisy?

The AMD S3 cooler has a maximum noise level of 39dbA. The AMD D3 cooler, which the S3 Cooler has replaced on certain CPUs, has a maximum noise level of 52 dbA. The AMD S2 cooler has a maximum noise level of 36dbA.

How many decibels is a good fan noise?

Not that the overall noise level is good—between 45 and 47 dB (A) depending on the current state of the fan controller is just a really bad result. AMD Wraith CPU Cooler AMD’s Wraith doesn’t just subjectively sound quieter, it actually is more quiet.

What is the maximum noise level of the AMD Wraith cooler?

The AMD Wraith cooler has a maximum noise level of 39dbA. The AMD D3 cooler, which the Wraith Cooler has replaced on certain CPUs, has a maximum noise level of 51 dbA. In the logarithmic dbA scale, a ten decibel difference is equal to ten times the amount of noise, so the AMD Wraith Cooler generates less than one tenth the noise of its predecessor.

How big is the fan on an AMD CPU cooler?

The AMD cooler features a thin 70 mm fan clipped onto a plastic shroud, which in turn, is clipped onto grooves on each side of the heatsink.
