As for the i7 5960X, there’s little right now to recommend it to PC gamers. Sure, I wouldn’t kick it out of my board if it restarted, but the cost outweighs its rather intangible gaming benefits. A super-powerful, octo-core CPU, but has little to really offer in gaming performance.

i7–10700K is very much worthy right now (As of April 2021). The prices of those i7–10700K has reduced too much and just near R5 5600X, so getting 2 cores/ 4 threads extra is always good if performance is near and price is almost same.
