By performing these services, they allow lawyers and the courts to concentrate on complex legal matters. JPs in the community signing sites across Queensland, including those in courthouses, have been suspended until further notice.

Is JP service free?

Due to changing restrictions issued by the NSW Government a number of JPs and JP scheduled desk locations may not be operational. Please contact the JP or service desk location first before attending. Please remember that JPs are providing a free service and they generously volunteer their time.

(1) The certifying individual must first establish the identity of the signer. (2) The form must be signed in the presence of the certifying individual. (3) If the certifying individual is not an officer, the certifying individual must insert the words “Authorized Signature” in the space provided for the title.

Can family certify documents?

It is not advisable for you to witness or certify a document for a member of your family. This is because of the potential for an actual or perceived conflict of interest (see Section 4.3. 4 above) and the risk that the document may be rejected on that basis by the organisation that requires it.
